About Us

Norwich Gymnastics Club was originally set-up in April 1994 with the amalgamation of Norwich Priory Gym, Glenhill Gymnastics Club and Rainbow Sports Acrobatics Club. The latter two clubs both had leaders who were originally gymnasts and coaches with Priory before they developed other clubs.

Norwich Priory was originally the highest rated Gymnastics Club in the city with country wide notoriety due to its production and achievements.

Peter Starling, was our city's Olympian who had represented Great Britain in two Olympic Men's Gymnastic events.

Since the amalgamation to Norwich Gymnastics Club where gymnastics is enjoyed in our purpose built and full-time centre, hundreds of children now attend; From pre-school to beginners, advanced and recreational up to the highest level in both Men's Artistic, Women's Artistic and Acrobatic Gymnastics.

We have produced National Champions in both our Artistic Disciplines, an International in Women's Artistic Gymnastics and runner ups in National Acrobatics. We are now looking to continue with more involvement nationally and internationally.

The facility regularly offers competitions, squad training, Easter and Summer training camps. NGC also offers British Gymnastics approved coaching courses and examinations which give our locally interested coaches the opportunity to continue to develop their coaching skills and knowledge.

All of our coaches are British Gymnastics qualified and both of our two different disciplines have a coach to the level 5 which is a High Performance Coach.

Glenys Halford, who set-up the facility and the club has been very instrumental in all the various areas of development and is responsible for all the activities that take place at the gymnastics centre.
